Alcazar of Seville Tour
Embark on an intimate journey through Alcázar on a small group tour. On this tour, enjoy a personalized experience with maximum 10 guests of the royal residence and skip the ticket line. Afterwards, explore the scenic gardens.
Begin your tour in the main monumental area of Seville. There, your guide offers a historical introduction of the city and the site. Catch a glimpse of the first remains of this palace complex.
After this background information, skip the ticket line to the monuments and proceed directly with your guide to the entry queue. Once inside, learn about the Justice Room and the Palace of Plaster. You’ll be fascinated by the decorations and stories that happened there.
Next, head to the House of Trade and the Admiral’s Room, where you’ll discover the importance of Seville and the Alcázar during the discovery and conquest of the Americas.
Then, pay a visit to the Mudejar Palace, built by Peter I back in the 1300s. Admire the mixture of Moorish and Christian influences, underlining every king’s desire to leave his legacy in this structure.
Finally, marvel at the Gothic Palace, the first Christian building of the Alcázar built after the Castillian conquest before heading to the charming gardens to conclude the tour at Maria Padilla Baths. From there, you’ll have all the time needed to explore the gardens at your own pace.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Yes — especially if it’s your first time visiting Seville. The Royal Alcázar is much more than a beautiful palace. Its history combines Islamic art, Christian kingdoms, royal traditions and centuries of political power. Visiting with a guide helps you understand the stories, symbols and hidden details that most visitors miss on their own.
-
The Alcázar can become extremely crowded, especially during high season. A small-group experience allows for a calmer pace, easier interaction with your guide and a more personal atmosphere. At Seville Unique Experiences, groups are limited to a maximum of 10 guests.
-
Yes. Your entrance ticket to the Royal Alcázar is included in the experience, so there is no need to buy tickets separately.
-
Absolutely. Alcázar tickets often sell out days or even weeks in advance, particularly in spring, autumn and holiday periods. Booking early is strongly recommended.
-
The guided visit through the palaces lasts approximately 2 hours. The experience finishes in the gardens, where guests are free to stay and continue exploring at their own pace for as long as they wish.
-
Definitely. The Alcázar is one of the most important monuments in Seville and one of the best places to begin understanding the city’s history and cultural identity.
-
The focus is on a more personal and less rushed experience. Guests can ask questions easily, interact naturally with the guide and enjoy the monument without feeling part of a large tourist group.
-
Yes. The tour ends in the gardens, and guests are welcome to remain inside the Alcázar afterwards to continue enjoying the gardens and atmosphere independently.
-
A valid original ID or passport is required to enter the monument, as Alcázar tickets are nominative and identity checks are carried out at the entrance. Comfortable shoes and water are also recommended, especially during warmer months.
-
Yes. Regular group tours are offered exclusively in English in order to maintain a smooth and consistent experience for all guests.
-
In case of strong wind, heavy rain or weather safety alerts, the Alcázar gardens may be temporarily closed by the monument authorities. These decisions are made for safety reasons and are completely outside the control of tour operators. Whenever possible, the guided visit will continue through the accessible palace areas normally.
-
No. Alcázar tickets are only valid for the specific access time shown on the ticket. Once the visit has finished and you leave the monument, re-entry is not permitted. Expired tickets cannot be reused later in the day or at a different time slot.
-
Visitors may enter with water, especially during warmer months. However, outside food, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are not permitted inside the monument. There is a café located within the Alcázar gardens where guests can purchase drinks and snacks during their visit.
-
Due to the monument’s access regulations, guides must enter the Alcázar together with the full group assigned to the visit. For this reason, late arrivals cannot join the guided tour once the group has already entered the monument.
If possible, tickets may still be sent to late guests so they can access the Alcázar independently, but joining the guide inside the monument after entry will not be permitted. We strongly recommend arriving a few minutes early to avoid any issues on the day of the visit.
-
Yes. Visitors must carry the same original ID or passport used during the reservation process. Security staff may deny access if the information on the ticket does not match the identification presented at the entrance.
-
Online tickets for the Alcázar often sell out well in advance, especially during high season. However, the monument usually releases a limited number of same-day tickets at the official ticket office each morning.
These tickets are only valid for that same day and availability is extremely limited, so many visitors begin queuing very early in the morning — often around 7:00 AM — for a chance to purchase them. Availability cannot be guaranteed and waiting times may vary depending on the season.
-
Yes. Visitors can discover several areas that appeared in the series during their visit to the monument, including courtyards, palace areas and gardens used in the scenes of Dorne.
-
The Royal Alcázar was used as the filming location for the Water Gardens of Dorne, home of House Martell in the series.
